Kīmiyā
For the curious and the willing.
An intimate collection of souls journey into real place, real connection and the beauty of the unexpected.
Come to reconnect with yourself, with others and with nature.
Our StoryKīmiyā is where The Intrinsic moves from insight into experience.
A living ground for testing, shaping and refining everything we believe about hospitality, belonging and place. This exploration is our most honest expression of that, more than a concept explained, a vision lived.
It is also deeply personal. One of the founders of both Kīmiyā and The Intrinsic is from Pakistan, so this journey carries the spirit of return as much as discovery. To travel here and to stay within this context, is to encounter the country through a lens of closeness, care and lived connection.
Kīmiyā Unedited: From Plains to Peaks
We creates intimate, place rooted journeys for those seeking something deeper than sightseeing.
The Unedited Series is designed for travellers who are open to surprise, softness and moments that cannot be staged. This is not travel as performance. It is travel as presence. Through shared meals, landscapes, local encounters and quiet rituals, each journey becomes a return, to the senses, to community and to something more honest within yourself.

For the curious.
For the willing.
For those drawn to nature, story, beauty, and human connection.
For those who value intimacy over spectacle.
For those who do not need every moment over explained to know it matters. -
Expect local life, organic landscapes, shared tables, local warmth and moments of quiet wonder.
Expect a journey with rhythm and room. Some parts are gently guided, others unfold more naturally. You may find yourself walking through farmland at golden hour, drinking chai with locals, gathering around a fire at night or sitting in silence long enough to hear your own thoughts arrive again.
This is not about rushing through highlights. It is about entering a place slowly enough for it to leave a mark.

Many trips show you a place.

Itinerary
-
Arrive in Lahore and settle into the rhythm of the journey.
Today is intentionally light. Guests arrive, exhale and ease into the experience in their own way. Depending on arrival time, there is space for rest, a quiet walk or simply letting the city begin to reveal itself.
Feel of the day: arrival, grounding, anticipation.
-
We begin together over breakfast, with introductions and a gentle opening to the journey ahead.
From there, we step into Lahore’s texture and grandeur. The day may include heritage, craft or a textile based encounter, followed by a lively street food lunch and time to pause or browse before the evening unfolds. As the light softens, we visit Badshahi Mosque and Lahore Fort, one of the city’s great historic anchors. Lahore Fort is part of the UNESCO listed heritage ensemble of the city, which gives the afternoon real weight as well as beauty. Dinner follows with a view, and the night closes with a distinctly Lahori experience after dark.
Feel of the day: culture, appetite, first connection.
-
We leave early and begin the shift from city energy to countryside calm.
The drive north includes a thoughtful pause near Kallar Kahar, with the possibility of stretching our legs near the Katas Raj temple complex, a historic site in the Potohar region. By afternoon, we arrive at Kīmiyā. There is time to rest, eat and settle into the slower rhythm of the place. Later, guests join a volleyball session with local young people, creating a warm and easy exchange through play. As dusk approaches, there is a chai and stillness hour, with time to wander nearby shops and fields before gathering again for supper in the haveli and a fireside evening of conversation and gentle connection.
Feel of the day: transition, welcome, belonging.
-
The day opens with a traditional breakfast of local yoghurts, grains, fruit, tea, coffee, bakery, paratha, eggs or halwa puri.
Then we head out toward Sagni Fort, choosing the route by foot, horse or motorbike depending on the group and the feeling of the morning. This is followed by a culinary session with Baaji Munna, where lunch becomes both experience and memory. Later, guests share chai with local residents before driving out at dusk for dinner by the Jhelum River, with fresh fish and local dishes served in one of those twilight moments that feels almost too cinematic to be real. Back at Kīmiyā, the night ends on the rooftop beneath the stars.
Feel of the day: participation, hospitality, wonder.
-
After an early breakfast, or breakfast boxes to go, we begin the ascent north.
If conditions allow, the scenic route via Lulusar and Babusar offers one of the most dramatic transitions in the journey. If not, the route can shift as needed for safety and timing. Babusar is a seasonal road that typically opens in June and often closes around October, so this day should always be held with a little flexibility. The overnight stay is in Chilas.
Feel of the day: ascent, movement, widening horizons.
-
We continue deeper into the Himalayan Kingdom of Gilgit Baltistan, with the day shaped around the Naltar region if conditions and access align.
Naltar is known for its alpine scenery, forests, lakes, and mountain views, though access is usually approached from the Gilgit side and often requires jeep style transport for the final stretch. Whether the day centres on Naltar itself or a quieter northern pause nearby, the intention is the same: to let the landscape begin doing its work on the group. Overnight can be shaped around the Gilgit area, Daynor or a serene guesthouse setting, depending on the final route.
Feel of the day: altitude, quiet, awe.
-
Today brings arrival into Hunza.
This is a day for air, light and scale. The scenery shifts again, becoming sharper, more open, more mythic. Hunza is less about rushing from stop to stop and more about absorbing its atmosphere. Time can be held for viewpoints, village wandering, local food, and simply letting the mountains set the tempo.
Feel of the day: openness, perspective, release.
-
We travel onward to Skardu, entering another landscape entirely.
The journey itself is part of the experience, with the terrain continuing to unfold in dramatic and humbling ways. Arrival in Skardu allows time to settle, rest and prepare for a slower immersion the following day.
Feel of the day: movement, scale, anticipation.
-
A full day in Skardu.
This day should breathe. Rather than overloading it, I would keep the rhythm spacious and elegant. One or two beautiful anchors are enough, perhaps a viewpoint, a local encounter, a gentle walk or time by water, followed by a meal that lets everyone reflect on how far the journey has carried them, outwardly and inwardly.
Feel of the day: spaciousness, reflection, calm.

TBD

We fly back to Islamabad, with the understanding that northern mountain flights always carry an element of weather dependency. Current public reporting and airline information both support keeping flexibility around this sector. If the flight operates as planned, the day can include breakfast at the hotel and a light touch of Islamabad before guests either connect onward or settle in for the night.
Feel of the day: descent, re entry, pause.
-
This day protects the journey.
If flights operate smoothly on Day 11, this becomes a gentle departure day in Islamabad, with space to rest, sightseeing, shop, reflect or share one final meal. If weather affects the Skardu leg, this day becomes invaluable. I would present it not as dead time, but as part of the care built into the experience.
Feel of the day: ease, flexibility, exhale.
-
Final transfers to the airport.
The journey closes, but ideally not too neatly. Kīmiyā is not really about returning unchanged. It is about carrying something quieter and truer home with you.
Feel of the day: departure, gratitude, continuation.
